A colleague of alt-right figurehead Richard Spencer was arrested for aiming his gun at anti-fascist protestors last night ahead of Spencer’s white nationalism-promoting speech at Michigan State University.
WDIV-TV in Detroit reported that Jonathon Kolanowski, a 24-year-old neo-Nazi, was part of an altercation that broke out between alt-right white nationalists and protestors condemning their hateful agenda in the township of Pittsfield, near the Ann Arbor home of MSU.
Kolanowski was said to have pulled out a gun and pointed it towards the counter-protestors. He was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, arraigned and given a $3,000 bond.
No injuries were reported as part of the incident, but given the violence that has been associated with neo-Nazi and white nationalist rallies since the death of Heather Heyer in Charlottesville last year, the incident will only add fuel to the fire in the debate over concealed carry laws.
